The Noel Stranger The Noel Collection Richard Paul Evans Books
The plot was completely ridiculous. But of more concern to me was the message to single women. That after a 6 month depression from a nasty divorce, you can fall in love with a new man in 2 days, safely travel for a week trip to Mexico with him where he will spend thousands of dollars on you but not want sex, tell him you love him within less than a week of meeting, & then upon finding out he's a convicted felon who let his brother go to jail for him, you follow him across the world & beg him to take you back because you love him no matter what. I generally like Evan's work & find truth in them. But this poppycock is a dangerous message to send to vulnerable single women.Tags : Amazon.com: The Noel Stranger (The Noel Collection) (9781501172052): Richard Paul Evans: Books,Richard Paul Evans,The Noel Stranger (The Noel Collection),Simon & Schuster,1501172050,Christmas fiction,Christmas stories.,Christmas;Fiction.,Divorced women,Love stories.,Man-woman relationships,Romance fiction,EVANS, RICHARD PAUL - PROSE & CRITICISM,FICTION Christian General,FICTION Family Life General,FICTION Holidays,Fiction,Fiction-Religious,FictionChristian - General,FictionFamily Life - General,GENERAL,General Adult,Monograph Series, any,POPULAR AMERICAN FICTION,United States, noel; noel collection; richard paul evans; mormon; latter-day saints; christian romance; christmas; king of christmas fiction; mistletoe promise; mistletoe inn; mistletoe secret; winter dream; new york times bestseller; american mothers book award; romantic times best women's novel; german audience gold award for romance; religion communicators council wilbur awards; washington times humanitarian of the century; volunteers of america national empathy award; salt lake city; utah; lost december; promise me; christmas list; grace; gift; finding noel; christmas box miracle; carousel; looking glass; locket; letter; timpiece; christmas box; christmas box collection; michael vey; walking on water; walk; step of faith; road to grace; miles to go; last promise; perfect day; sunflower; four doors; five lessons a millionaire taught me about life and wealth; the dance; the first gift of christmas; noel diary, noel; noel diary; noel collection; richard paul evans; mormon; latter-day saints; christian romance; christmas; king of christmas fiction; mistletoe promise; mistletoe inn; mistletoe secret; winter dream; new york times bestseller; american mothers book award; romantic times best women's novel; german audience gold award for romance; religion communicators council wilbur awards; washington times humanitarian of the century; volunteers of america national empathy award; salt lake city; utah; lost december; promise me; christmas list; grace; gift; finding noel; christmas box miracle; carousel; looking glass; locket; letter; timpiece; christmas box; christmas box collection; michael vey; walking on water; walk; step of faith; road to grace; miles to go; last promise; perfect day; sunflower; four doors; five lessons a millionaire taught me about life and wealth; the dance; the first gift of christmas
The Noel Stranger The Noel Collection Richard Paul Evans Books Reviews
I quickly devoured yet another wonderful carefully spun story from the gifted author, Richard Paul Evans. It sucked me in from the beginning and I couldn't wait to steal what moments I had to read the next chapter. I loved the characters, the descriptive scenery, history lessons, and remarkable one-liners that I will highlight in my heart. To the author, keep 'em coming!
I received this book on November 6, 2018. I knew it would be good and I didn’t have time to read yesterday when it arrived. I picked it up today at 1100 am and decided to just read the first chapter. With laundry to do and meals to fix, I worked and snatched a reading moment throughout the day. Finished the book tonight at 900 pm. I couldn’t stop until it was finished. RPE has written another Christmas book to read and re-read. Love the Christmas books.
Another winner! Richard Paul Evans does it again. This story is quite different from most of his other books, due to the history his main character has with trust and how she overcomes all the curves life just keeps throwing her way. Andrew or Aaron? Who has she really met? A fairy tale trip to Cabo only leaves more questions in her mind. A must read for Richard's fans.
I've been reading RPE's books during the Christmas season for the last few years as a way to get in the spirit. This book had me shaking my head and hoping there would be a twist or some fragment of real life included. That he would deviate from the formula. He did not. The way everything is always tied up so neatly is just unbelievable and although I realize it is fiction, it is distracting to the point where I didn't enjoy this much.
I love Richard Paul Evan's books. This one is like they are robotic characters. People who are good exist but not with this little emotion. Story line takes two strangers on a trip and they are in love without any basis or foundation. The women of the story is pathetic as she finds out her husband is a polygamist and one man does one favor for her and she is in love. A story without depth or believability. I wish he would take time to write a good book like he seems to do for the more part.
It would be nice if people got over a terrible ending of a marriage that quick. I feel the character of Maggie was too quick to move on and just moving from one man to another. I just didn't feel the pain and the characters in this story.
Richard Paul Evans' books are special to me. Reading his latest novel is a great way to start my Christmas season each year. His writing style greatly appeals to me, as there is always a message of hope in his words.
The predictability of his books is a given the death of a close relative, a messy divorce, an estranged parent. Christmas. Utah. You can almost count on these elements in each book he writes.
I love that I don't have to worry about sex scenes or foul language in his books. I love the nuggets of truth and pearls of wisdom I find. I can use these in my daily life.
However, this book fell a little short for me. I didn't understand the Spanish (sorry, but I don't speak Spanish). I also was confused by the twist of characters in the end. I didn't care for the bigamy (reminded me too much of 'My Five Wives') and there was too much alcohol referenced for my liking.
Overall, I do enjoy Richard Paul Evans' books very much. However, if you are looking for a wonderful Christmas read by this author, I would recommend 'The Mistletoe Promise'. (It is MUCH better than the Hallmark movie that came from the book.) It is my gold standard for this author, so do yourself a favor and read that one instead. It will not disappoint.
